Tracy's Ross's trick riding combines a
variety of ballet and gymnastic
maneuvers on (and nearly off) a horse
galloping at full speed.
The Trail Drag, or instance, is a daring
and dangerous trick that few trick riders
attempt. For this trick, Tracy throws
herself off the rear of a running horse.
Held on only by straps around her feet,
her hands drag the arena floor while
her head bobs perilously close to her
horse's flying rear hoofs.
Tracy's trick riding is "to the extreme!"
ROMAN RIDING
This style of riding perched above two galloping horses dates back to competitions held
in ancient Rome.
Today, Tracy Ross takes the art of Roman Riding to new limits, with sparkling
costumes, fancy footwork, and difficult ground maneuvers.
Bandit and Pepper, although not perfectly matched in color, match up perfectly as they
work flawlessly as they weave and split fire poles, figure 8 around each other or leap
through a blazing ring of fire.
Tracy has produced wild west shows and corporate events. She is able to drive teams
and participate in chuck wagon racing. Her background in theater includes dancing,
acting and announcing. "My horses and I have performed in every lighting
arrangement imaginable, including during a laser light extravaganza, under black light,
with fog and with pyrotechnics. I have performed in wigs, in leather for Harley
Davidson, and even among exotic animals."
Quick costume changes, the versatility to work with other trick riders and performers
under strict timing limitations, and her ability to work under even the most challenging
back drops puts Tracy among the elite in her very specialized entertainment field.
A personally satisfying roll is presenting workshops and clinics at her facility. She does
school presentations, summer camps, children's and corporate parties in addition to
her performances at Equestrian Theatres, PRCA Rodeos and Equine Expositions.
